DivnickGolf to Introduce the BIG DICK and BIG JANE Titanium Drivers at the 2004 PGA Merchandise Show DAYTON, Ohio (January 23, 2004) - DivnickGolf will be introducing a new line of BIG DICK and BIG JANE Titanium Drivers at the 2004 PGA Show in Orlando Florida , January 28 through February 1, 2004. These innovative drivers feature High-Loft/Low-Spin(TM) technology developed by DivnickGolf. You can experience these exciting new clubs at the outdoor live Demo Day and at Tent 18 at the Equipment Testing Center (ETC)Demo Village during the show.
BIG DICK is initially available in 11, 13, and 15 degree lofts, and BIG JANE is available in 13 and 15 degree lofts. All models are also available in left-handed versions. The heads are 400 cc's with an extra deep face to yield the maximum allowable spring effect. The Forged SP700 titanium heads are an industry-light 189 grams for great feel and easy control. According to Steve Divnick, President and Head of R&D, "Although we have been working on high loft-low spin technology for several years, we are very fortunate to benefit from the recent publicity generated by Golf Digest's November 2003 issue which heralds the merits of higher loft." Equipment makers have tried high loft before. But higher loft has always increased the back-spin rate, and that diminishes the advantages of the higher trajectory. Divnick has found a way to defy those laws of physics. "We have been making telescopic and adjustable clubs for travel since 1992. Our most popular telescopic driver is a 15-degree "Tee & Fairway" model to go with the adjustable-loft iron. Because of the high loft and weight distribution, our customers often report that they hit this 2-piece driver farther than their $400 titanium graphites. So we decided to enter the high-end driver market and apply the knowledge we have gained from 10 years of design experimentation." Divnick is targeting average golfers, most of whom struggle to get the ball in the air on a productive trajectory. "It has never made sense to me that club makers design equipment for professionals. Pros already have great swings and expert teachers. It makes no sense for the rest of us to use their equipment. We need our own tools. I'll let the traditional club makers supply the pros. I want to supply the amateurs." Divnick is a teacher-turned-inventor with several patents to his credit. In the early 1980's, he created an alarm system to warn you when you leave the lights on in your car, now standard equipment. He invented and manufactures the "Spiral Wishing Well" which has raised over $200 million for charities around the world. People toss in coins to watch them spin around in circles. He also owns Voxwire.com, a technology company that lets you talk with anyone in the world over your computer in voice quality that is better than the telephone and a lot less expensive based on an unlimited flat-rate price. It can be one-on-one or with hundreds of people at a time using the convention mode. You can show visuals (slides, graphics, charts, documents) at the same time. He started playing golf about 15 years ago with a full set of clubs like everyone else. But he didn't like the idea of lugging all that weight around. After two years of prototyping and testing, he received a patent for the "Whole-In-One" Adjustable club which can be locked on every loft, even half lofts, and includes a collapsible shaft for easy travel. He manufactures and distributes it through a variety of websites and resellers. It has been tested against name-brand irons on a robot machine at Golf Laboratories and actually hits farther with a significantly tighter shot pattern. It's clear that Divnick knows something about engineering golf equipment. Within a year of introducing the adjustable, he began making telescopic drivers and putters and has been experimenting with high-loft and low-spin technology ever since. This gives DivnickGolf a significant head-start on the rest of the industry that is just now beginning to recognize the benefits of higher loft. BIG DICK and BIG JANE have already received endorsements from some PGA Professionals which are posted at www.divnickgolf.com/drivers/reports.html. Pete Brown, the first African-American to win a PGA Tour Event says, "Every-day golfers have always struggled to use equipment that is designed for pros. It's about time someone designed a club for the average player. The higher loft and light swing-weight of the Big Dick and Big Jane drivers easily produce higher trajectory, more consistent distance, and better accuracy. This club is great for men, women, seniors, and juniors who will find it much easier to get the ball in the air and hit more fairways." Blew-By-U, an independent launch monitor service company reports, "BIG DICK is the most consistent driver with the tightest shot pattern in our entire inventory of over 100 drivers from 5 major manufacturers. We've never seen anything like it. The more we test it, the more impressed we become." Although the marketing focus is on average golfers, the 11o loft is impressing advanced players too. Matt Stotler, a local PGA pro says, "As a pro, I hit all the major manufacturer's drivers. None of them hits as well as the BIG DICK!" DivnickGolf will have three hitting bays at the outdoor Demo Day preceding the Show January 28th from 10am-5pm as well as a premium location (Tent 18) at the 200,000 square foot ETC indoor driving range during the Show. Divnick says, "As a new entry, we needed to find a way to separate ourselves from the hundreds of other exhibitors and 10 miles of aisles. And we know that when pro shop buyers hit our drivers at the ETC, they will immediately know that the majority of the players at their courses and stores will want the added distance and accuracy. This is going to be easy money for them." Divnick will host a press conference on Friday at 2 pm in Room 312A. Media representatives are invited attend for a more detailed review of these new clubs and the 10-year background and testing that has led to this introduction.
