BIG STIK Impresses Lefties

DivnickGolf receives praise from participants at the National Association of Left Handed Golfers Annual Tournament

When DivnickGolf introduced its new high-loft BIG STIK titanium driver at the 2004 PGA Show in Orlando, they included left-handed models. This began what has developed into a great appreciation by left-handed golfers all around the world. Most
manufacturers ignore lefties when they introduce a new model, but Steve Divnick, President of DivnickGolf didn't want to leave anyone out. Lefties usually have to wait for new technology, but we knew we had a winner and lefties would love it too, says a confident Divnick.

So impressed were a couple lefties at the PGA Show, they arranged to have the National Association of Left-Handed Golfers (NALG) invite DivnickGolf to attend their annual association 4-day tournament held near Cincinnati Ohio in June.

Tournament attendees had a chance to test the new drivers prior to their first round, where many saw significant distance and accuracy improvements, and immediately put their new drivers into play. Richard Russo said, It has a noticeably more solid feel than my Ping . Even the sound is solid. But what I like most is that it hits boring shots that don't sail too high from excessive backspin. This club helps me lower my score because I have more second shots to the green. I am impressed that you had all the options for us to test in left-handed models.

Russo's testimony echoes what a lot of BIG STIK owners experience with the lower back-spin produced by this new technology. Divnick explains, We get our trajectory off the higher loft, so we don't need a low center of gravity to get the ball in the air. The low CG on most drivers creates back-spin that makes the ball climb like an inverted banana, then drop and stop. Our high-loft/low-spin design produces a beautiful high arc that lands softly and rolls out farther than other drivers.

BIG STIK's are available in 11, 13, and 15-degree lofts. The 15-degree loft has been likened to a Three-wood on steroids! The trend around the industry is to higher loft, but DivnickGolf has taken it to another level by combining the higher loft with a significantly higher center of gravity.

Bill Clark, another of the NALG tournament participants reported, I like how the Big Stik squares up at address. I've been using a KZG head with a UST shaft which is known for its distance, but I hit your club straighter and every bit as long. It feels solid and I like the way the ball comes off the face. Thanks for catering to the lefties. We are normally the last to get the good stuff.

One of the most enthusiastic lefties is Rod Rocket Ferguson, a 54 year old perennial contender for the NALG championship. He sent in the following testimony six months after he got his driver at the NALG: "I can hardly wait for each round of golf so I can hit this new driver. It is such a pleasure to see the ball go so far. I love it on tight holes because I know where it's going. On my home course, I hit the longest drives in nine years. I love the piercing trajectory and excessive roll. I now out drive one of my friends by 20 yards and that really ticks him off because he always used to hit farther than me. I was one of the first with a Big Bertha, and progressed up through the Greatest Big Bertha. But your driver is the best of all. I have lowered my handicap from 6 to 4 with this driver."

DivnickGolf is often asked why the name-brand manufacturers didn't come up with this combination. His answer is simple: Big brands design clubs for pros, and then spend millions of advertising dollars for endorsements. But most of us are nothing like the pros. We need drivers that are designed for us...we need our own tools. Divnick adds with a little tongue-in-cheek, We'll gladly let the name-brand manufacturers target the pros, we just want to serve the average players who make up 95% of the marketplace.
