1972: Gary Player wins the PGA Championship at Oakland Hills Country Club.

1977: Judy Rankin bests Nancy Lopez by six shots to win the Colgate Eastern Open.

1982: The U.S. bests Great Britain-Ireland, 14 1/2 to 3 1/2, in the Curtis Cup Match at Denver Country Club.

1995: Jesper Parnevik wins the Volvo Scandinavian Masters by five shots over Colin Montgomerie.
