A Look Back: July 23

1960: Betsy Rawls earns her fourth U.S. Open trophy, beating out Joyce Ziske by a stroke with a final-round 75.

1967: In a battle of Dons, Don January defeats Don Massengale 69 to 71 in a playoff for the PGA Championship title at Columbine Country Club.

1978: Hollis Stacy wins the U.S. Women's Open by a shot over JoAnne Carner and Sally Little.

1989: In a three-hole playoff, Mark Calcavecchia bests Wayne Grady and Greg Norman to win the British Open at Royal Troon.

1995: John Daly wins a four-hole playoff against Costantino Rocca of Italy to win the British Open at the Old Course in St. Andrews.
