1925: MacDonald Smith wins the North and South Open with a record 281 total.

1944: Byron Nelson posts a 270 total to win the Knoxville War Bond Tournament by one stroke over Harold "Jug" McSpaden at the Knoxville (Tenn.) Municipal Golf Course.

1973: Chi Chi Rodriguez shoots a final-round 66 to win the Greater Greensboro Open by one stroke over Lou Graham amd Ken Still.

1989: Mike Sullivan wins the Shell Houston Open by one stroke over Craig Stadler.

1995: Davis Love III defeats Mike Heinen in a playoff to win the Freeport-McMoran Classic in New Orleans and to qualify for the following week's Masters.
