1967: Gay Brewer shoots a 26-under-par 262 to win the Pensacola Open.

1969: Rolf Muntz, a European Tour member since 1994 and winner of the 2000 Qatar Masters, is born in Voorschoten, Holland.

1972: Gary Player wins the Greater New Orleans Open, beating Dave Eichelberger and Jack Nicklaus by one stroke.

1978: Hubert Green shoots a final-round 67 to win the Heritage Classic by three strokes over Hale Irwin.

1995: Lee Janzen wins The Players Championship by one shot over Bernhard Langer.
