Masters Organizers Issue Invitations to Six Players Contact Glenn Greenspan (March 31, 2003) - Invitations have been issued to six players to compete in the 2003 Masters, it was announced today by Hootie Johnson, Chairman of Augusta National Golf Club and the Masters Tournament. The addition of these players increases the Masters total invitations to 102. This year's Tournament will be contested April 7-13. The following players qualified for the Masters by finishing among the 50 leaders on the Official World Golf Ranking published during the week prior to the 2003 Masters: Tim Clark (South Africa) The following players qualified for the Masters by finishing among the 10 leaders on the Official PGA Tour Money List published during the week prior to the 2003 Masters: Chad Campbell According to qualifications, Davis Love III, the winner of The Players Championship qualified for a three-year invitation to the Masters. Also, Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus announced they would compete in the 2003 Masters. This year will mark the 49th and 43rd Masters for Palmer and Nicklaus, respectively. |
