GolfSwitch Helps Michigan Golfers Book Tee Times Online
Contact Curtis Sojka SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (December 3, 2001) -- GolfSwitch, a division of Spectrum Golf, Inc., announced today that it has signed a license agreement with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC). MEDC houses Travel Michigan -- the State of Michigan's official agency for the promotion of tourism. As part of this agreement, GolfSwitch's Internet booking engine, WebPro, will be integrated into travel.michigan.org so that Michigan golfers may make tee times online. GolfSwitch WebPro makes it fast and simple for golfers to learn more about golf courses, find available tee times and make reservations. Through GolfSwitch WebPro on the Travel Michigan web site, golfers will now have one convenient place to turn to for all their Michigan golf reservation needs. "As Michigan continues to move up the ranks among the top golf destinations in the country, we need to meet the challenge of offering the best service possible to golfers selecting Michigan as their golf destination," said George Zimmermann, Vice President of Travel Michigan. "With GolfSwitch, we provide the ability to book tee times online at multiple courses and receive electronic confirmation of their reservations immediately." GolfSwitch already has a large presence in Michigan and has been helping golf courses book more rounds. For the period beginning September 25, 2000 and ending September 25, 2001, more than 38,075 rounds of golf were booked using the GolfSwitch Network in Michigan. With Travel Michigan now using WebPro, the number of rounds booked next year in Michigan through GolfSwitch is expected to grow significantly. Robert Chiti, GolfSwitch General Manager, commented, "We've been investing heavily in Michigan this year, bringing new golf courses, hotels and marketing partners onto the GolfSwitch Network. Our goal is to replicate what we've done recently in places such as Scottsdale, Las Vegas, Hawaii and Sacramento, promoting Michigan as a golf destination to millions of golfers throughout North America." GolfSwitch will be at the Michigan Golf Course Owners Association (MGCOA) Annual Conference today and tomorrow at Soaring Eagle Resort and Casino in Mt. Pleasant.
