CHICAGO (March 5, 2002) -- Superior Metal Technology (www.smtgolf.com) has reached an endorsement agreement with World # 6 ranked Long Drive Professional Pat Dempsey. Dempsey, seen on ESPN taking sixth place at the 2001 ReMax World Long Drive Championship, will hit SMT's "Shinnecock" club head in competitions and appearances during the 2002 Long Drive season.

Pat Dempsey will hit his 6 degree lofted SMT Golf head at the prestigious NorCal Long Drive challenge on Saturday, March 16th at The Reserve at Spanos Park in Stockton, CA. This event, co-sponsored by SMT Golf will be Dempsey's first professional event of the year, and will feature many of the top Long Drive professionals in the country.
Pat Dempsey played baseball professionally for 12 years, including stints in the Majors with the Oakland Athletics and the Baltimore Orioles. Dempsey has made it to the ReMax World Long Drive Championships 3 times, his best finish being 2001's sixth place showing.
