Jim McLean Signs Agreement With Harrison Shafts

MIAMI (December 11, 2002) - Jim McLean announced today that he signed a multi-year agreement to endorse and co-design golf shafts for Harrison Sports, one of the top five manufacturers of golf shafts in the world.

"Jim is one of the most respected golf teachers in the world," said Harrison president Michael Cheng. "He's dedicated to improving every golfer's swing. By having Jim work with us to design better shafts, we'll be able to help golfers of all levels achieve real game improvement. Jim will also be able to test prototypes as he teaches, which will give us a practical laboratory to test shafts and make refinements before releasing them to the public."

"I'm pleased to be working with Harrison," says McLean, who operates the Jim McLean Golf Schools. "Since the shaft is the engine on the club, I believe it needs as much emphasis as the swing itself. So I'm delighted with the results of the first shaft we've designed together ‚ the Harrison Striper J. It's graphite integrated with titanium filaments and definitely minimizes shaft lagging and twisting during the swing to create a better impact."

California-based Harrison Sports' patent-pending process of integrating titanium with graphite has gained worldwide recognition, especially with professional golfers. In 2002, Harrison shafts were frequently used by players on the PGA, Senior and European tours. They were also used by several finalists at the Re/Max World Long Drive Championships.

Jim McLean is ranked one of the Top 3 Golf Instructors by Golf Magazine and was named PGA Teacher of the Year.
