Robert Gamez Teams With Zoeller to Represent 'The Putting Peg'

SELLERSBURG, Ind. (February
14, 2003) - PGA TOUR professional Robert Gamez recently reached an
agreement to represent Fuzzy Zoeller's putting
aids, "The Putting Peg" and "The Putting Pod" while competing on The
PGA TOUR. Terms of the agreement were not made available.
"I began using Fuzzy's putting aids last year, and I have no doubt they have helped my putting significantly," said Gamez. "Anyone who follows golf knows that one of the most important statistics is putting, and mine has improved significantly over the past twelve months or so."
In 2001, Gamez ranked 145th in putting on The PGA TOUR. For the 2002 season, his ranking moved up an amazing 132 positions to 12th place. For the 2003 season through "The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am," he is ranked 5th on The PGA TOUR in the putting category.
"I love the fact that this idea we came up with is helping Robert," said
Zoeller. "He's a good friend and we look forward to seeing him in the
winners circle this season." Zoeller won The Senior PGA Championship
and The Senior Slam in 2002, and credited his improved putting for those
victories. "You never know, I may win three or four times this year," Zoeller
continued.
Zoeller's aids, which he personally designed, combine the benefits of putting to a small target (1 1/4 inches in diameter as compared to a regulation golf hole at 4 1/4 inches) with the positive psychological benefit a player experiences when hearing the ball fall in the hole. This is accomplished by a patent pending mini speaker and battery system that emits the sound of a ball falling in the hole when the unit is struck by a golf ball.
