Treetops ResortGAYLORD, Mich. (March 26, 2003) - Treetops Resort, one of the leading golf resort destinations in the country has selected Bloomfield Hills based Golf Marketing Services to handle its public relations and marketing efforts. Golf Marketing Services specializes in marketing and public relations in the golf industry and has been the voice for Michigan golf for nearly twenty years.

"This is an exciting time for Treetops. With new ownership, expansion in land development, upgrades throughout the resort, and added services and recreation, in addition to our world-class golf, we knew we needed the best entity out there to help get our message across effectively. Golf Marketing Services fit that profile perfectly", said Scott Head- Director of Golf for Treetops.

Treetops Resort changed ownership last season as Rick Smith and a group of investors acquired the resort from the Melling family. The acquisition included over 4,000 acres of scenic terrain, which the group intends to develop via a long-term master plan that includes a major face-lift to the resort. Hotel room upgrades, additional resort amenities for families and kids, membership and real estate opportunities, as well as additional golf holes are all options that are being considered.

Treetops Resort adds to the list of other high profile resort and destination projects that Golf Marketing Services has been involved with.

"I had the opportunity to work closely with Rick Smith during the late 80's and early 90's as he was growing to become one of the world's leading golf instructors and a golf course architect. It is a privilege to have the opportunity to work with him again, now as a resort owner in promoting the expansion and development of one of the countries premier golf resort destinations", said Dave Richards-CEO of Golf Marketing Services.

Treetops Resort features 81 holes of Championship Golf, is the home of the Rick Smith Golf Academy, and is the site of the ESPN Par 3 Shoot-out. Treetop's inventory of four championship courses and a Par 3 Course, all designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., Tom Fazio, and Rick Smith himself, make for some of the best collection of golf holes on one property anywhere in the country. Golf Magazine has honored the resort the past five years with its prestigious Silver Medal Award, while Golf Digest voted the resort 32nd on its list of "Top 75 Resorts in America".
