Harbor Links Publishing Company To Focus On Quality Books Contact Brett Marshall DEXTER, Mich. (August 20, 2003) - Brett Marshall, former golf editor at Sleeping Bear Press and executive editor at Clock Tower Press, has announced the formation of a new company - Harbor Links Publishing, LLC. The publishing company will focus primarily on books about golf, histories of clubs, associations, organizations and corporations. It will also publish books about other sports and books that have a regional reading interest. "Our goal is to bring together people and ideas in an exciting partnership to publish quality visual and literary expressions that educate, enlighten and entertain," said Marshall in his announcement of the company. "We want to nurture an open, honest and creative environment of trust and teamwork, dedicated to excellence and integrity." Marshall's combination of more than 15 years in the golf association business and his knowledge of the golf industry provide experience that will be critical in bringing quality book ideas to reality. In addition, he has a keen interest in history that will add important skills to each book project. "We will focus on books that bring a lot of enjoyment to the reader," said Marshall. "We are committed to the highest level of editorial excellence. We will provide the personal touch in working with authors to provide guidelines, monitor and consult with them during research. We intend to utilize printers of the highest quality to provide our authors and readers books of which they will be most proud." In addition to his two and one-half years at Sleeping Bear Press and Clock Tower Press where he oversaw several award-winning book projects, Marshall has an extensive background in golf. From 1993-2000, he was the Executive Director of the Golf Association of Michigan, and from 1984-93 he held a similar post with the Kansas Golf Association. Prior to that, from 1974-1984, he was a sports writer with newspapers in his native state of Kansas. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from the University of Kansas.
