STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. (April 2, 2002) -- Rachel Teske, who defeated Lorie Kane in sudden
death to win the 1999 Chick-fil-A Charity Championship hosted by Nancy Lopez,
will return to play in the 11th annual event. She joins the previously committed
Annika Sorenstam, Karrie Webb and Se Ri Pak (the top three ranked players in the
world) in the hunt for a first-place check of $187,500. Scheduled for April 29-May
5 at Eagle's Landing Country Club in Stockbridge, Georgia, the tournament offers
a total purse of $1.25 million. Here are additional facts and figures about Teske:
- Teske
is off to a terrific start to the 2002 season, winning the Ping Banner Health
in Phoenix two weeks ago. On the final day, she made up a five-shot deficit to
Annika Sorenstam and then defeated her in a two-hole sudden death playoff. It
was her fifth career win and her second in a playoff over Sorenstam.
- She currently ranks fourth
on the 2002 money list with $155,385 and is tied for second in Rolex Player of
the Year points.

Last year in 27 events, she made 24 cuts and finished in the top 10 on six occasions.
She won the Evian Masters and also tied for second at the Nabisco Championship,
her best ever finish in a major tournament. Her earnings total of $713,129 ranked
11th on the money list and was her best ever. Her scoring average of 71.45 was
also a career best.

Statistically last year, she ranked 4th in sand saves (54.1%), 15th in total birdies
(296) and 21st in percentage of rounds under (42/88).

In 2000, she played in 28 events, made 21 cuts and finished in the top 10 on seven
occasions. Her best performances were seconds at the Jamie Farr Kroger Classic
and the season-ending Arch Wireless Championship. Her earnings total of $447,180
ranked 17th on the money list.

Teske joined the LPGA Tour in 1997, gaining exempt status by finishing 11th at
the 1996 qualifying tournament. In her rookie year, she earned money in 25 out
of 28 tournaments with her best finish a tie for 5th at the Welch's Championship.
So far in her career, she has earned nearly $2.2 million.

She played on the European Tour in 1995 and 1996. In 1995, she won both the Ladies
German Open and the Ladies Spanish Open.
Tournament note: From the 2001 money list, this year's field already includes
48 of the top 50 and 97 of the top 100.
