Peter Jacobsen And Suzy Whaley Commit To Play In The 2003 Save Mart Shootout

FRESNO, Calif. (August 5, 2003) - PGA TOUR professional Peter Jacobsen and teaching professional Suzy Whaley today committed to play in the 2003 Save Mart Shootout, according to John Bladholm, tournament director.

Jacobsen, shot a 3-under-par 67 on Sunday, July 27, for a two-stroke win at the Greater Hartford Open, his first PGA TOUR title in eight years. He also won the tournament in 1984.

Suzy Whaley, the first woman to qualify for a PGA TOUR event since Babe Zaharias in 1945, also competed in the Greater Hartford Open. Jacobsen's sports management company, Peter Jacobsen Productions, represents Whaley.

The Save Mart Shootout will bring some of the world's best PGA TOUR and LPGA Tour players to Riverbend Golf Club in Fresno, Calif., October 12-13, 2003, for an 18-hole, best-ball format tournament.

Other professionals who have committed to play include: Amy Alcott, Beth Bauer, Natalie Gulbis, Carin Koch, Juli Inkster, Casey Martin, Mike Springer, David Sutherland, Kevin Sutherland, Esteban Toledo and Nick Watney.

Tournament information is available online at www.pjp.com. Tickets for the event will be available for purchase at all Save Mart Supermarkets and/or by calling the ticket office at 866-571-2002 beginning August 26. Youth ages 14 and under are admitted free with a ticketed adult.
