Michael returns to the Top-50 of the Official World Golf Ranking as he improves 21 positions to No. 43 and becomes the fifth highest ranked Australasian on the World Ranking. Thomas Bjorn continues his recent rise as he moves up 2 spots to World No.18 while the Swede Peter Hedblom breaks into the Top-200 at No.195. On the US PGA Tour this week, Peter Jacobsen won for the first time in eight years as his final round 67 ensured victory in the Greater Hartford Open at the TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut.
