(April 7, 2003) - On the US PGA Tour this week, Ben Crane shot a final-round 63 to win the BellSouth Classic at the TPC Sugarloaf in Duluth, Georgia. Crane's final hole eagle ensured a 4-shot victory over Stewart Cink and he becomes the first first-time winner on the PGA Tour so far this year. Crane improves 72 positions in this week's Official World Ranking and is now World No.75. Runner-up Bob Tway improves 23 spots as he breaks into the World Top-50 at No.47 while the South-Africa Retief Goosen improves 2 positions and makes a return to the Top-5. Hank Kuehne's T3 is his best career finish on the PGA Tour and he progresses to World No.175.

In the first event of the 2003 Japan Golf Tour season, Australian Andre Stolz continues his assault on the World Top-50 as he won the Token Homemate Cup at the Tokentado Country Club to move up 20 positions on the World Ranking to No.54. Stolz is now the 7th highest ranked Australian in the world after Robert Allenby (16), Peter Lonard (29), Stuart Appleby (33), Adam Scott (34), Craig Parry (37) and Stephen Leaney (52).

American Edward Loar became the first left-handed golfer ever to win on the Asian PGA Tour as he won the $150,000 Thailand Open at the Krisada City Golf Hills near Bangkok. Loar's 248-position improvement on the Official World Golf Ranking lifts him to No.452 in the world.
