Lessons From the Pros: Managing Your Game. The debut of a new six-part Golf
Channel series that will take a novel approach to instruction. Each 30-minute
episode is a golf lesson taught by a touring pro during playing situations. Rather
than a typical driving-range lesson where instructors offer swing tips, these
televised sessions will take place on the course while viewers eavesdrop on a
pro's off-day practice round. Some of the golfers featured are Tom Lehman, Bruce
Lietzke, Lee Janzen and John Cook. Viewer's
Forum. Joining hosts Kraig Kann and Mike Ritz will be Lorne Rubenstein, TV
host and columnist for Canada's Globe & Mail; Tim Rosaforte, noted writer for
Golf World magazine; Frank Thomas, chief technical advisor for Golf Digest; Matt
Adams, vice president at Pro Select Golf; and Adam Barr, Golf Channel business
reporter. Discussion of recent golf events will start the program -- including
a live report from the Phoenix Open -- followed by news about new equipment introduced
at the PGA Merchandise Show. Troubleshooters
Challenge. A compilation of the popular Academy Live in-show segment, featuring
average golfer David McClain's struggle to break an 18-hole score of 100. Highlights
of all 10 lessons with instructor and Golf Channel Troubleshooter Jim McLean will
be included. Sam
Snead: Swing for a Lifetime. Viewers will be offered an in-depth look at the
swing of Sam Snead in this encore presentation, which also is part of The Golf
Channel Home Video Collection. Professional instructor Jim McLean interviews Slammin'
Sammy and uses archival footage of the golf-great's swing to provide analysis
and tips for viewers. Ben
Hogan: The Golf Swing.
Jim McLean breaks down what critics have called golf's greatest swing. With the
help of rare footage, McLean takes viewers on a journey through the complex mechanics
of Hogan's golf swing by breaking down every swing element from grip to follow-through.
He translates Hogan's concepts and ideas into lessons for today's average golfer,
with piece-by-piece analysis designed to help any level of player improve and
produce results on the golf course. This program also is part of The Golf Channel's
Home Video Collection.
