Pride/Softspikes Names Leo Kahl Director Of Marketing Contact Kelly Elbin Kahl will be responsible for the development of all marketing initiatives that impact both the Pride and Softspikes brands. Pride Manufacturing is the worldwide leader in the manufacturing of golf tees, and Softspikes is the pioneer of and worldwide leader in plastic golf cleats. Kahl brings a fresh perspective to Pride/Softspikes, having worked creatively in industries ranging from defense to automotive to telecommunications. "In Leo, we are fortunate to have a highly skilled individual who understands the various elements that are essential to any successful marketing plan," says Bob Burr, the new President and Chief Executive Officer of Pride/Softspikes. "We look forward to the creative concepts that Leo will bring to our efforts to maximize the sales of both brands." Kahl says he will strive to build on the retail and green grass successes generated by Pride Manufacturing and Softspikes by focusing on a strategic plan that will further raise awareness of the brands and their corresponding product lines. "It is a great opportunity to be able to work with two brands in the same category which hold such strong leadership positions," says Kahl. "I am excited about the synergies now possible and look forward to approaching the marketplace in unique ways." Virtually every week since the start of the 2002 PGA Tour season, Black Widow cleats by Pride/Softspikes have accounted for at least 70 percent of all the plastic cleats worn at full-field events. Over that time, 23 official PGA Tour events, including the 2002 British Open and PGA Championship, have been won by players wearing Black Widow cleats. To help golfers maximize their performance and enhance their experience on the course, Pride/Softspikes encourages players to change their cleats more often and use longer golf tees to better work in conjunction with oversized drivers. |
