Bill Reid JACKSON HOLE, Wy. (June 14, 2002) - The ownership group at Teton Springs Development today announced the addition of Bill Reid as Chief Operating Officer and overall Project Director for the 780-acre Teton Springs planned community on the western slope of Teton Pass. Project co-owner Jim Eden, of Eden and Associates, a Jackson Hole corporation, said that Reid's background makes him the ideal candidate for the newly created position. Reid has spent the past 20 years with PGA TOUR Golf Course Properties, working on the development of Tournament Players Club facilities across the country. "Bill brings a wealth of golf-related recreational community development experience that comes at just the right time for Teton Springs," says Eden. Most recently, Reid had assumed operational management and development responsibilities for as many as 11 Tournament Players Clubs in the resort, daily fee, and private categories. Last year, Reid placed eight of his golf shops in Golf Business magazine's listing of the top 100 golf shops in the United States. Bill Ward, co-owner of Teton Springs and founder of Softspikes, Inc., noted that, "Bill has an impeccable record for accomplishment in the golf and recreation industry. We think his leadership ability and focus on getting jobs done will add continued momentum to our project. We are delighted to have him on board." Reid is a member of the PGA of America and is currently the PGA's National Employment Chairman. He also was the director of golf at Sahalee Country Club in Redmond, Wash., site of the 1998 PGA Championship. His brother, Mike "Radar" Reid, has played on the PGA TOUR for 26 years. Reid said that after numerous visits to the Jackson Hole area, he began to appreciate the vast appeal the area holds for year-round residents and those who own second homes there. "The difficult decision to leave the PGA TOUR was made considerably easier by the quality of the golf course and the overall facility that is being developed. I have complete confidence that the area will strongly support the project." Golf course architect Gary Stephenson is overseeing the work on an 18-hole championship course, and nine-hole short course, which are scheduled to open in 2004. Golf legend Byron Nelson has been instrumental in the design of the championship layout, and 1996 U.S. Open champion Steve Jones has served as the player consultant. The Teton Springs planned community will include 500 lots for single-family homes, a 100-room resort hotel, golf school, as well as more than 50 acres of lakes for world-class fly fishing and equestrian operation. | ||
