Ronald P. Skenes AUGUSTA, Ga. (February 14, 2002) -- Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) today announced that John L. Garrison, Jr. has been named president of E-Z-GO. Garrison will be responsible for all aspects of the golf car and utility vehicle company including sales, marketing, engineering and manufacturing. Garrison will report directly to Greg Hyland, president of Textronís $2.1 billion Industrial Products segment and will be based at E-Z-GOís world headquarters in Augusta, Georgia. "John brings a solid background in management and operations to Textron and he will capably lead our strong E-Z-GO management team, which includes Chairman Emeritus L.T. Walden and Executive Vice President Sales and Marketing David Rivers," said Hyland. "We are pleased to have someone of Johnís caliber lead this critical business particularly given his international, capital equipment and distribution channel experience." Garrison comes to Textron with 20 years of general management experience. Most recently, he held management roles including chairman, president and CEO at Azurix Corporation, a global water company engaged in design, construction, and operation of water and wastewater systems and facilities. He also served as Azurixís president, Europe/South America and managing director, Global Operations. Prior to Azurix, Garrison was employed by Case Corporation where he was vice president and general manager, North American Agricultural Group and vice president and general manager for Agricultural Systems. John earned his BS, Engineering in 1982 from the United States Military Academy, West Point, NY and an MBA from Harvard University in 1990 where he graduated with distinction. "Like his predecessors, John will play a key role in growing the E-Z-GO business and will make significant contributions to both Textron and the Augusta community," continued Hyland.
