WEST CHESTER, PA (April 2, 2002) -- The Inside Golf television show and the Philadelphia Section PGA have joined forces in a marketing agreement that should form a powerful alliance within the golf industry. The alliance is a two-year pact in which both parties agree to help each other deal with the economic and competitive pressures of today's golf market.

"The alliance was a natural one," said Jack Lutz, executive director of the Philadelphia Section PGA. "We both have the same ultimate goal and that is to promote the game of golf. Inside Golf has been around for five years and proved that they are a recognized factor in providing both information and entertainment in the golf world."

Don Cannon, host of Inside Golf and a legendary figure in Philadelphia entertainment circles, has a long history of involvement with the Philadelphia Section PGA Championship. For a number of years he served as honorary chairman of the Philadelphia Section PGA Championship. He also has been directly involved in assisting many area pro-ams and this year will take an active part in the promotion of the Senior PGA Tour's Instinet Classic at the TPC at Jasna Polana in May.

"I have a special feeling for the Philadelphia Section PGA," Cannon said. "Many of the pros are my friends. They raise a huge amount of money in their charity tournaments and the Section is one of the most respected in the country. The Philadelphia area is one of the greatest golf areas in this country and much of that credit belongs to the Section, its employees and its members."

Inside Golf is the weekly magazine-style television show that airs on Comcast SportsNet each Saturday at 6 p.m. The show is re-aired at 5 a.m. on Sunday and 11 a.m. on Wednesday.
