Former Masters, British Open champ to tell how Natural Golf revitalized his swing and playing career; Program also to highlight scientific study that shows Natural Golf to be more efficient than conventional golf swing Contact Rick Johnson MOUNT PROSPECT, Ill. (November 13, 2002) - Sandy Lyle, who enjoyed his most successful season in 10 years in 2002, will appear on The Golf Channel's "Academy Live" program and tell how Natural Golf has not only changed his swing but his chances of winning again on the PGA Tour. Lyle will appear on "Academy Live" on Nov. 19 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Also appearing with Lyle will be Ken Martin, a PGA Professional and Natural Golf Certified Instructor who taught and coaches Lyle on the Natural Golf swing. During the show, Lyle and Martin will also discuss the recently released study that compared the efficiency of the Natural Golf and conventional swings. The study, which was conducted by three organizations that specialize in statistical analysis of sports kinesiology, showed the Natural Golf swing was easier to repeat and was more efficient than the conventional method. In conjunction with its teaching system that will be explained by Lyle and Martin on "Academy Live," Natural Golf Corporation is getting ready to release a totally revised video training program, called the "Natural Golf Swing System." The highly interactive video series focuses not only on how to learn the Four Fundamentals of the Natural Golf swing, but breaks new ground in a format that stresses how the information is taught through the use of repetition and a computer-generated model that emulates the Natural Golf swing. The instructional program is also available in DVD format. Since he began playing Natural Golf in 2001, Lyle has reduced his scoring average from 73.6 per round at the end of the 2000 season to 71.6 in 2002 during play on the PGA European Tour. This season, Lyle also had four top- 20 finishes on the PGA European Tour, including a tie for third at the Dunhill Links Championship, a finish that ensured him of retaining his exempt status in 2003. The last time Lyle had at least four top-20 finishes was in 1995. In 1988, when Lyle won The Masters and four other tournaments, he was the No. 1-ranked player in the world, but he eventually suffered a severe playing slump for nearly a decade after his last victory during the 1992 season. This year, Lyle's earnings total of $407,599 on the European Tour was the second highest earnings total of his career, behind only his 1988 season when he won more than $900,000. As part of the "Academy Live" format, Lyle and Martin will take calls from viewers. Golfers will also be able to ask questions through a special link set up prior to the broadcast at Natural Golf's website at: http://www.naturalgolf.com.
