New Jim McLean Golf School To Open At La Costa

MIAMI (March 15, 2002) -- KSL Recreation Corporation and Jim McLean Golf Schools announced today that the Jim McLean Golf Academy will open this year at La Costa Resort in Carlsbad, California.

KSL's La Costa is currently undergoing a major multi-million dollar renovation which includes all the practice areas. Range improvements are expected to be completed by late Fall.

"The entire teaching facility at La Costa is slated for renovation," said Jim McLean, who's ranked one of the top instructors in the world by both Golf Magazine and Golf Digest. "Our vision is to make this the finest golf school in Southern California."

La Costa, a AAA Four-Diamond KSL resort nestled in 400 lushly landscaped acres north of San Diego, features two championship golf courses which hosted the 2002 World Golf Championship -- Accenture Match Play. The resort is a perfect match with Jim McLean's teaching facility -- both are legendary in the golf world. (Jim's school, with 35,000 students annually, was ranked #1 in the world by CNN in 2000.)

The school will offer everything from comprehensive instruction programs, including private lessons, to six-day sessions golf schools, corporate clinics and outings and junior golf geared to golfers of all levels of play. And it will include Jim's own specially designed teaching system and the Superstation". The most advanced learning facility that golf instruction has to offer, the Superstation" features multiple indoor-outdoor hitting bays that combine the latest digital video and computer equipment to instantaneously analyze a player's swing.

Jim works full-time with Len Mattiace, who won this year's Nissan Open in Los Angeles, Erik Compton, Christie Kerr, Dana Quigley and periodically with many other Tour players.
