DENVER (December 3, 2001) -- Even the most imaginative shopper can have difficulty deciding on a holiday gift for the golfer who has everything.

The truth is most golfers would prefer to pick out their own new putters, drivers, or set of irons rather than leave such personal buying decisions to someone else. Gifts of golf shirts, golf gadgets and golf knickknacks all may evoke polite "thank yous" from their recipients, but seldom do they inspire excitement or fire the imagination.

That is why GolfTEC, Inc. -- the revolutionary golf instruction company with multiple centers in Denver, Chicago, Atlanta and Dallas -- now is offering a special holiday gift certificate package aimed at giving every golfer what he craves most: a better golf game.

"How many golfers need another shirt or hat or a putter that someone else bought for them?" said Mike Clinton, senior vice president and founder of GolfTEC. "What golfers really want is to play better golf."

The GolfTEC Holiday Gift Certificate package offers golfers three golf lessons by a GolfTEC PGA professional instructor using GolfTEC's unique state-of-the-art video, motion analysis and biofeedback technology to enhance and accelerate the learning process.

The $195 package -- which normally retails for $300 -- includes a one-hour Initial Evaluation in which the golfer's swing is exhaustively analyzed using video, motion analysis and biofeedback technology, and two 30-minute follow-up lessons which also employ GolfTEC technology. The package also includes a 15 percent discount on a subsequent GolfTEC multi-lesson package.

The gift certificate comes in a high quality, card stock, gold embossed envelope that can be tucked into a Christmas stocking, dropped in the mail or placed under the tree.

The GolfTEC Holiday Gift Certificate is the ideal gift for spouses, children, grandchildren, friends, clients, bosses, employees and co-workers, not to mention members of one's Saturday foursome.

GolfTEC Holiday Gift Certificates can be purchased online at www.golftec.com or by calling or stopping by a local GolfTEC learning center.

GolfTEC is a fact-based golf instruction system that combines the skills of PGA teaching professionals with a unique blend of video, motion analysis and biofeedback technology aimed at helping golfers improve their golf skills and, ultimately, derive more enjoyment from the game. The company's students range from beginners to touring professionals -- both men and women -- from the ages of one to 98.

Among GolfTEC's technological tools are:

  • A Digital Video Computer System. This system records a player's swing from various angles and is capable of immediate playback, enabling instant swing analysis by both player and instructor. In addition, GolfTEC utilizes its large videotape library of PGA touring pros -- including golf's biggest names -- to provide visual examples of the game's greatest swings in a side-by-side comparison with the student's own swing.
  • A Motion Analysis Computer System. This system is a harness containing a series of motion sensors designed to measure such key swing components as shoulder turn, hip rotation, etc. This type of objective analysis eliminates the guesswork and subjectivity inherent to the teachings of golf instructors who must rely on their "eye" to detect swing flaws and suggest fixes. The student's swing data then is compared with GolfTEC's proprietary swing data taken from touring professionals.
  • Biofeedback Reinforcement is a GolfTEC learning tool that measures key elements of the golfer's swing against a set of "perfect swing" parameters and emits an alarm in the form a tone to signal the golfer has exceeded those parameters. For example, if a student makes too extreme a shoulder turn, the computer will set off a "beep." The next time the student swings, he or she should be able to make a shoulder turn or that better conforms to the established swing parameters.
  • Impact Analysis is a GolfTEC exclusive technology that enables the student and teacher to know the flight of the ball even though they are working indoors. The technology allows them to see the face angle of the club at impact and where exactly the club head struck the ball. It also measures club head speed, the speed of the ball at impact and calibrates the direction and distance of the ball based on impact.

GolfTEC is a fast-growing Denver-based high-tech golf instruction company with multiple facilities in Denver, Dallas, Atlanta and Chicago.
