Question:

By winning the Funai Classic and finishing second at last week's Chrysler Championship, Vijay Singh is poised to win the PGA Tour money title instead of Tiger Woods. Does this close race and the Player of the Year contest make you more interested in the outcome of the TOUR Championship than you otherwise would be?

Your Responses:

Yes, most definitely! I have always felt that there is a BIG rivalry between Vijay Singh and Tiger Woods. It will be a very interesting and highly competitive contest, especially between these two players. I call it a "silent and respective war" of the links!

I watch the Tour Championship every year. But this year, it is a little more interesting. I will definitely be attached to the tube on Sat and Sun. I'd like to see Tiger pull it out and win the money title as well for the 5th year. Did I also mention Player of the Year honors too?

Having Woods and Singh battling it out next weekend makes it a must see to close the year out. Do think quite amazing how well Singh has been playing of late; just goes to show how important practice, practice, practice is.

Vijay and Tiger! A match up that would make anyone happy! This makes for good press and that is what sells advertisements. I will definitely watch the Tour Championship with more interest as it actually means something this year. There are about five guys who really want to win this tournament as it might mean the Player of the Year award. Can't wait!

Yes, the race for the money title has everyone a bit more interested since it's so close and it appears that Vijay will take top honors. Tiger Woods, Davis Love III, Kenny Perry, etc., should be very proud of their season, but I believe this is good for the game to have a competitive year for the money title and someone besides Tiger has a chance to win. Tiger Woods should receive the praise and "atta boys" for all he's done in the game but the media lives and dies with each tournament that he plays in and there are way too many veterans and young guns reaching the tour that deserve some spotlight time. Tiger is going to rake in more majors and money than anyone has ever seen, but give him more than a couple of years to achieve it. The rest of the PGA Tour should take note and try and take their game up a notch to get their name in the hat next year.

The Tour Championship featuring the top 30 players (based on earnings) of the year provides enough incentive for me to spend Thursday thru Sunday watching the event.

The possibities of who might win providing additional excitement is a great bonus.

I still believe if Mike Weir wins then he will be player of the year!! Obviously if Tiger wins then he will again be the man.... If Vijay wins...he will inherit the title.... If anyone else wins then it will be a toss-up between Tiger and Vijay and may come down to who earns the money title between Tiger and Vijay.

Good stuff to consider and enjoy thru till Sunday!!

Is their any other golfer on tour besides Tiger Woods. I am so tired of hearing about him I am starting to puke every time I hear his name pleas give us areak already.

No! I watch golf tournaments because I enjoy seeing how various players swing, pitch, chip and putt. The fact that this tourney is the climax of the season just makes it that much more interesting. I will cheer for whomever wins.
