Question:

Tiger Woods is set to defend his title at the Masters this week and contend for his third consecutive green jacket. Who is your pick to win 2003's first major? Can Woods pull it off? Will this be the first major win for Phil Mickelson? Or will another player triumph, and if you think so, who?

Your Responses:

The only players that probably have a decent chance against Tiger are DLIII, Phil Michelson and Ernie Els if his wrist is healthy. There are many other players doing quite well, but I think these are the best choices.

Rocco Mediate will win the Masters.

I think Mike Weir has a great chance for a Masters' Jacket!

My second choice would be Fred Couples, he has been playing like the Freddy of "old".

Should be a great week.

I believe (Tiger) will take his third straight, because this is what he lives for. If I had his talent I know I would want all the records I could amass.

Phil or Ernie are my picks, at least they are the ones I will be rooting for.

I predict that the Great Johnny Miller will step out of the broadcasting booth one last time to show the youngsters what playing tournament golf is really all about. He will take on Tiger Woods, as they will be tied going into the last four holes. Tiger will play his usual incredible golf but, Johnny will dig deep into his soul and beat Tiger soundly at 18 by 2 shots. During the Green Jacket ceremonies Johnny will announce his retirement from tournament golf and quickly state, "He will take the retiring Mike Jordan's place in the NBA to show the younger player's just exactly how the game should be played".

Well guys and gals it boils down to this; my choices are determined by which of these guys has the hot putter this week! Davis Love III, Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Ernie Els, Retief Goosen and my long shots are Adam Scott and Justin Rose! We will just have to wait until Sunday afternoon!

By the way I think it is an insult to the Masters tournament, the one everybody waits for each year, our first major and I think the best major overall, for what it's done for the history of our great game, the excitement it projects, the one major most players would cherish to win; to have only two hours Thursday and Friday coverage. Come on guys, Hootie wake up and smell your roses and get this major the coverage it deserves. I am sorry but I feel this way like 15 million other golfers throughout this great nation!
