ATLANTA, Ga. (May 17, 2002) - The Metro Atlanta Youth for Christ will host it's 17th Annual Charity Golf Tournament on Monday, June 3, 2002 at the historic Atlanta Athletic Club, Home of the 2001 PGA Championship. Steve Bartkowski will return for his 17th year as Honorary Chairman for the Golf Tournament. Steve will be on the course playing with participants to help raise money for the youth of Metro Atlanta.

Over 175 golfers will participate in their year's event playing on both courses provided by The Atlanta Athletic Club. While visiting The Atlanta Athletic Club you will have the chance to see the Jones Room Museum honoring Atlanta Athletic Club's most famous member, Bobby Jones. Many of Jones' trophies are on display in the museum, along with correspondence with his good friends, Dwight and Mamie Eisenhower, photographs and the letter to the USGA.

The Atlanta Athletic Club has hosted a number of world class events including the 1976 U.S. Open. The PGA Championship marked its first visit to Atlantic Athletic Club when Larry Nelson won with his closing 1-over-par 71. Last year David Toms out-dueled Phil Mickelson to win the 83rd PGA Championship.

This year's golf tournament, presented by Magnolia Golf Group, has various sponsorship opportunities and is open to any golfer. Their are still open sponsorship opportunities with current sponsors including: Trammell Crow Company, Lanier, ReMax of Atlanta, CEC, I Bank, Mail Sort, Inc., Brayson Homes, Benchmark Trophy Center and Chick-Fil-A.
