Thousands Attend Seminars, Exhibits and Demo Events; 2003 PGA Fall Expo Draws to a Close Contact Sherry Major SAN DIEGO, Calif. (August 7, 2003) - Thousands of PGA professionals, golf retailers, manufacturers and industry leaders came to San Diego for the industry's premier fall marketplace, the 2003 PGA Fall Expo, Aug. 5-7, at the San Diego Convention Center (SDCC). The PGA Fall Expo, a Trade Show Top 200 Show, featured products, accessories and services of 351 golf-related exhibitors; 41 professional development seminars; and a popular new Demo & BBQ the first night of the event. Buyers from 24 countries and 45 states traveled to the nation's second largest golf marketplace to preview next season's equipment, accessories, apparel, training aids and services within 60,000 square feet of exhibit space in the SDCC. Industry professionals also personally tested equipment at indoor driving, pitching and putting facilities located in the 19th Hole exhibit of the convention center. Additionally, more than 250 attendees participated in 41 professional development programs presented in partnership with The PGA of America, the Association of Golf Merchandisers, and other leading associations, Aug. 5-6. Many education seminars had standing room only such as Buying Strategies, Successful Marketing & Newsletter Development and Getting Extraordinary Results From Ordinary People. An exciting new activity at the PGA Fall Expo was the inaugural Demo & BBQ held the first evening of the event, Aug. 5. More than 500 buyers and industry professionals personally tested the products of 19 exhibitors, like Callaway, Nike and Wilson, after trade show hours at Riverwalk Golf Club in San Diego. "Special programs and activities like the demo night and education conference are valuable for PGA Fall Expo attendees," said PGA Golf Exhibitions Vice President and Show Manager Christopher McCabe. "Working together with The PGA of America, our goal is to continually improve the value of the traditional trade show experience with programs like these and more to come." The PGA Fall Expo, organized in partnership with Reed Exhibitions and The PGA of America, returns to the SDCC, July 29-31, 2004.
