INGMA Media Forum Headed For a "Hot" Destination Contact Candice Nethercott (August 7, 2003) - Did you know that the state of Mississippi was recently named the "Best Up-and-Coming Domestic Golf Destination of the Year" by The Golf Insider (www.thegolfinsider.com), a leading golf-travel-rating publication? And one of the biggest reasons for that prestigious ranking is the region the ING Members Association will visit in October 5-7 for the annual INGMA Fall Media Forum - the Gulfport/Biloxi area. The Golf Insider annually ranks "The Year in Golf Travel" and Mississippi was honored for its high performance, quality offerings, and rapidly increasing number of attractions and value it offered golf travelers in 2002. Mississippi was ranked No. 2 in The Golf Insider's "Top Ten Golf Travel Discoveries for the Year." The Golf Insider said the following about Mississippi in justifying its selection of the state as the "Best Up-and-Coming Domestic Golf Destination of the Year": "The golf, lodging and food tend to be excellent values, and beaches and casinos add to the fun. We're not the only ones who think so: The International Association of Golf Tour Operators, folks like Perry Golf and Wide World of Golf, just nominated the state as 'Emerging Golf Destination of the Year,' and that's for the whole world." INGMA will be hosted by the Isle Of Capri Resort & Casino in Biloxi, and the Mississippi Gulf Coast Golf Association. The INGMA Forum features panels based upon issues facing today's media, both editorially and in advertising. There will also be two golf events, product presentations and networking opportunities. Itinerary and entry form are available at www.inggolf.com. |
