STATESBORO, Ga. (June 12, 2002) - Miniature golfers nationwide will be headed to Hackers Golf Park in Statesboro, Georgia for a chance to win the 2002 Harris Cup. On September 28, 2002 Hackers will host the 2002 Harris Cup Miniature Golf National Championships. Harris Miniature Golf Courses, Inc., the nations largest miniature golf design and construction company, developed the Harris Cup with the owners of their courses and charity organizations in mind. This is the second year for the Harris Cup. The tournament will benefit the Children's Miracle Network.

Miniature Golf courses (built by Harris) around the country will be holding qualifying tournaments throughout the summer. "It is our hope that these tournaments will create awareness for Children's Miracle Network while raising money to help hospitalized children around the country," says Rich Lahey, owner of Harris. Players will be vying for a sizable purse and other prizes. The winner will also receive a trip to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

100% of the money raised by each course through these local qualifying tournaments will stay local to benefit the Children's Miracle Network hospital serving that community. "Children's Miracle Network is pleased to be associated with Harris Miniature Golf," says Wally Edwards, managing director. "This partnership will provide us with the opportunity to help provide more children in the local community with high quality health-care 24 hours a day, 365 days a year."

Children's Miracle Network is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping kids by raising funds and awareness for 170 children's hospitals across the country. These hospitals help 17 million children each year battle diseases and injuries of every kind. The non-profit hospitals affiliated with Children's Miracle Network are among the best in the world. These hospitals depend on outside fundraising support in order to provide specialized care to ALL children regardless of a family's ability to pay.

Hackers Golf Park was selected to host the 2002 Harris Cup Finals out of Harris' over 350 courses nation wide. The Harris Cup will move to a different Harris built miniature golf course each year. "We are very confident that the ownership team of Hackers Golf Park, Larry Bryant and Darin Van Tassell, will bring their experience of tournament involvement and event planning to the Harris Cup. This is the second year for the Harris Cup, and I'm sure that Larry and Darin will make it a model to be followed in the years to come," stated Mr. Lahey. In 2001 Hackers Golf Park was named as one of the Top 100 Golf Ranges in the United States by Golf Range Magazine. The first-class facility located in southern Georgia, about an hour's drive from Savannah, features a lighted golf practice facility, a championship miniature golf course with two huge granite waterfalls, clubhouse, a 10,000 square foot putting green and picnic area.
