An annual 72-hole tournament played along Myrtle Beach, S.C.'s Grand Strand, the DuPont Coolmax(R) World Amateur Handicap will be held Aug. 25, 2003 through Aug. 29, 2003. PlayDupont.com showcases a user-friendly format that allows participants to register online, and details the tournament's handicap guidelines, its history, participating courses and recommended accommodations. The website also provides a look at the world's largest 19th hole, the event's nightly expo at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center that features 90 exhibitors and complimentary food and drinks for participants. The DuPont(R) Coolmax World Amateur Handicap Championship, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2003, is played on more than 80 Grand Strand courses and is open to any amateur golfer with a verified United States Golf Association handicap or the foreign equivalent for international players. Players are flighted according to their handicap. This year's tournament is expected to draw 4,500 participants, including players from all 50 states and numerous foreign countries. Nearly 100 golfers play in each of the approximately 50 flights, with the flight winners advancing to compete in the 18-hole world championship playoff.
