MEMPHIS, Tenn. (March 27, 2003) - True Temper Sports, world leader in golf shaft technology, has had a presence on the PGA Tour for over 20 years. For 2003, the effort continues in the strongest manner as True Temper debuts its state-of-the-art tech van on Tour. With the recent acquisition of a new equipment truck and trailer, True Temper can now work with the pros better than ever before. The new rig replaced one that was purchased in 1998. That one is now servicing the Nationwide and Champions Tours, which doubles True Temper's effort on Tour.

The new rig is larger and more spacious, allowing True Temper to carry more advanced equipment to each Tour stop. One addition is a precision grinder which allows company technicians to custom grind both irons and wedges to the personal preference of the finest players in the world. The trailer will be at every PGA Tour event that allows OEMs to be on site, with very few exceptions. Every given week, the trailer carries at least 2,000 shafts in order to meet the specific needs of the Tour pros. True Temper's PGA Tour Technician Randy Hughes works on hundreds of clubs per week.

Of course, the company's Tour presence is advantageous for getting True Temper and Grafalloy products in the hands of world-class players; but Manager of Tour Operations Chad Hall believes that the advantage lies with the golfers themselves. "Personal consultation with the Tour players allows for a detailed analysis of their club performances," states Hall. "We can work with them to maximize their ball flight preferences, and make sure that the shafts play to the golfer's desire."

True Temper Sports is the leading manufacturer of golf shafts in the world and is consistently the number one shaft on Tour. The company markets a complete line of shafts under the True Temper and Grafalloy shaft brands, and sells these brands in over 30 countries throughout the world. True Temper Sports employs over 700 people in seven facilities located in the United States, Europe, Japan, and Australia.
