(April 14, 2003) - While millions watched in anticipation as the final round drama of The Masters unfolded, Mike Weir made history with a nearly flawless performance to capture his first major championship and third come-from-behind victory of the season. Trusting the New Titleist Pro V1 golf ball and a fearless putting stroke, Weir's 4-under par 68 secured a position in a playoff, which he won on the first extra hole. "I made a number of putts that were just difficult," said Weir in an exclusive post-tournament interview with www.titleist.com. "You're never going to have a straight putt at Augusta, really. You're always playing a little break. And that's what really won me the tournament. That's what I'll remember most about this week and this event - the way I putted." Titleist Winners' Circle The Titleist winners' circle continues to grow as Weir becomes the 11th champion through the first 15 events on the 2003 PGA Tour to choose Titleist for his success - more than all other golf balls combined.
