Kenny Perry wins MemorialCARLSBAD, Calif. (June 2, 2003) -- TaylorMade Tour Staff Professional Kenny Perry, the hottest player on the PGA Tour, fired a 13-under-par 275 to win the 2003 Memorial Tournament. It was Perry's second consecutive victory; last week he set a tournament record to win the Bank of America Colonial. In both events he used a TaylorMade R500 Series driver, TaylorMade V Steel 3-wood and TaylorMade irons.

In addition:

  • Six of the top ten finishers at the Memorial played an R500 Series driver.
  • The No. 1, most-used driver at the Memorial was the R500 Series; TaylorMade brand fairway woods and irons were also No. 1.
  • Perry's win at the Memorial marked the eighth time this year that a PGA Tour event was won by a player using an R500 Series driver.

Besides The Memorial, three more professional tournaments around the world were won yesterday by players using TaylorMade's R500 Series drivers, including:

  • European Tour/The Celtic Manor Wales Open: winner Ian Poulter, a TaylorMade-adidas Staff Professional, used an R580 driver as well as a V Steel 3-wood and rac MB irons, and wore adidas Golf Z Traxion Tour footwear and apparel.
  • Champions Tour/The Music City Championship at Gaylord Opryland: the winner used a TaylorMade R580 driver.
  • Japan Golf Tour/Diamond Cup: the winner used a TaylorMade R540 driver and TaylorMade fairway wood.

"Yet another fantastic week for TaylorMade's R500 Series drivers," said Mark King, CEO and president of TaylorMade-adidas, "and our congratulations to Kenny. It goes to show that great things happen to tour pros that play the best-performing drivers in the world -- the R500 Series."
