(December 3, 2001) -- The golf season never rests, and neither do Black Widow cleats by Softspikes.

Raymond and Robert Floyd both wore Black Widow cleats to victory Sunday at the Office Depot Father/Son Challenge. Raymond wears Black Widow cleats every week on the Senior PGA Tour, and had them on his shoes when he captured the 2000 Ford Senior Players Championship.

This year, all four major championships on the Senior Tour were won by players wearing Black Widow cleats.

Every week on the 2001 PGA Tour, Black Widow cleats finished far ahead of all other non-metal spikes combined. Black Widow cleats also outnumbered metal spikes virtually every week on the PGA Tour. By season's end, a total of 18 official PGA Tour events had been won by players with Black Widow cleats.

In addition to being the No. 1 cleat on the PGA Tour, Black Widow is also the top-selling cleat in the game. FootJoy, the leading golf shoe brand, features Black Widow cleats as original equipment on all of its performance golf shoes.

Softspikes, Inc., encourages golfers to maximize the performance in their golf shoes by changing their cleats on a regular basis. Softspikes recommends that golfers check their cleats every 10 rounds to see if they need a new set.
