Craig Stadler Earns Nike Golf First Champions Tour Win Contact Dean Stoyer BEAVERTON, Ore. (July 15, 2003) - Nike Golf's Craig Stadler became the first player from Nike Golf's Tour Staff to win on the Champions Tour with a victory at the Ford Senior Players Championship this past weekend. Ironically, it was also Stadler's first win on the Tour, and a Major win, at that. Stadler, who put Nike Golf's faster core TA2 LNG in play at the Players Championship, joined the Champions Tour just last month. Stadler also sports Nike Golf footwear and the Dri-FIT Tour performance golf glove. The TA2 (SRP: $40/dozen) was introduced in January. It is the result of more than three years of testing; feedback from hundreds of golfers after thousands of rounds played; scores of professional tour victories including seven Major Championships; and the magic of the most talented golf ball engineer in the golf industry, Rock Ishii. Trevor Immelman was the first to win with the TA2 LNG in January 2003, scoring a victory at the South African Airways Open. He proceeded to play into two playoffs early in the season in Europe, similar to the near-victory playoff loss by fellow TA2 player Aaron Baddeley in Hawaii at the Sony Open. Grace Park followed up with a TA2 LNG win on the LPGA Tour in May at the Michelob Lite Open at Kingsmill. Rory Sabbatini went on to with the TA2 LNG at the FBR Capital Open in June. Nike Golf introduced the world to the benefits of solid core technology in 2000 and led the shift away from the wound core ball with the ensuing Tour Accuracy line. Feedback from three years of Tour and amateur play combined with the consistent nature of the Tour Accuracy's solid core led to the creation of Nike Golf's proprietary Snap Velocity Core. This innovative blend of Neodymium-catalyzed Polybutadiene has resulted in the fastest core Nike Golf has ever introduced. It is the heart of the TA2 and what gives it the distance that tour level players demand. Nike Golf, located in Beaverton, Oregon, is passionately dedicated to honoring and respecting the traditions and heritage of the game, and to providing committed golfers with the absolute best equipment in the game in every product category.
