BEAVERTON, Ore. (August 13, 2003) - Tiger Woods debuted the Nike "One" golf ball at the U.S. Open at Olympia Fields in June. This week at the PGA Championship at Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, NY, Woods introduces the TW6, the latest Dri-FIT Tour TW golf shoe from the footwear performance leader Nike Golf.

Equally significant are the debuts of the men's SP-7 and SP-5 golf shoes from Nike Golf. Expect to see Rory Sabbatini, Aaron Baddeley, Stephen Ames and Paul Azinger, among others at the PGA Championship this week, in the new Sport Performance shoes from Nike Golf.

"The strength of our new lines coupled with the anticipated Tour presence of the TW6, SP-7 and SP-5 has driven up our complete-line forecast for fall /holiday by 20 percent," added Category Business Director Mike Forsey. "The appeal of the SP-5 for men and women was notably under-estimated as bookings for those styles specifically are up 375 percent."

Woods' sixth version of the contemporary classic Dri-FIT Tour TW, aptly named the TW6, features the finest craftsmanship; rich, supple leathers; and the most advanced moisture-controlled shoe environment found in a golf shoe.

Nike Golf's introduction of the Sport Performance Collection already promises to be a successful marriage of necessity and desire - the need for comfort, stability, and protection and the desire to look good.

The SP-7 and SP-5 (for men and women) start with the exclusive Gore-Tex Golf Technology that's 50% more breathable than anything on the market. It is combined with soft supple calf full-grain leather. In true Nike tradition, lightweight cushioning and comfort is provided by the forefoot zoom air and visible heel air units that last the life of the shoe. All of these proven technologies ride on the newly designed T@C 4 (traction at contact) TPU outsole, featuring the new dual durometer Scorpion StingerSpikes that signal when it is time to change spikes with a color-code wear meter.

The SP-7 has a sleek design, uncommon to golf yet standard in other performance sports. The SP-5 has a slightly more traditional silhouette yet with the same two-seam center stitch of the SP-7.
