Rick Wright THE WOODLANDS, Texas (October 15, 2001) -- Kirk Currie Signature Putters will begin shipping their newly developed long putter the "Red" to compliment it's current lineup of it's perimeter weighted "Brazos" model, it's "Pecos" blade model, it's "Rio Grande" mallet model, and it's belly length "Brazos Belly" model (all putters are named for rivers in Texas). As with all of the Currie putters in the lineup, the "Red" will incorporate three interchangeable weighed sole plates which will allow you to weight the putter from 475 grams up to 505 grams and the putter can be inserted into their retail fitting display for loft and lie angle bends. The "Red" can also be custom fit for length. They have designed a split shaft which goes together similar to a pool stick and is secured by a hexagon set screw which conforms to USGA rules. The top portion of the shaft is provided in various lengths which will allow for custom length preferences. Standard lengths provided are 48", 50" and 52". Additionally, they will begin shipping the "Kure" on November 1. The "Kure" is a putting stroke trainer which attaches to the shaft and secures against the inside of the forearms. The training aid prevents the breakdown of the hands and wrist. The "Kure" provides instant feedback and is an excellent muscle memory training aid. For the record, Currie and his partner Rick Wright are the original developers of the putter fitting system which was licensed for three years to Slazenger USA. Their license agreement expired at the end of 1999 and they have since manufactured their putters under the Kirk Currie Signature Putter brand.
