GolfGear's Tsunami Driver, Junior Players Clubs Rank High in Golf Test USA Ratings Contact Mark Grody HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (July 28, 2003) - The Tsunami 400 driver by GolfGear International, Inc. (OTCBB: GEAR), finished at the top of the ratings and its Tsunami 360 finished in a tie for second place during comprehensive testing of dozens of drivers by Golf Test USA, it was announced by Don Anderson, GolfGear's founder and CEO. At the same time, the Company's line of junior clubs - Players by GolfGear - received the top marks in that category. The testing of drivers was conducted using two evaluation-rating formats. The first evaluation format was done by GolfTest USA Test Administrators, and in the second evaluation format GolfTest USA asked each golfer to rate several criteria on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being best. Average golfers, with handicaps from 5 to 25, each hit shots off a tee. GolfTest USA Test Administrators rated the distance of each shot on a scale of 1 to 10 and the "Control" and "Accuracy" they felt each golfer displayed with each driver during the test. These ratings were then combined with the golfers' own ratings to come up with an overall rating for each driver. In the Junior Club testing, young golfers used complete sets of those clubs being tested to practice with and play a couple of rounds of golf. They then evaluated several criteria that Golf Test thought would offer an indication of the design, quality and performance of each set. GolfGear offers a full line of proprietary golf clubs, including Tsunami drivers, fairway woods and irons; Leading Edge(R) Championship Putters; Diva woods and irons for women; and Players(R) Clubs for junior golfers. The entire line of Tsunami drivers, fairway woods and irons is made using GolfGear's unique, multi-patented "forged-face insert" technology. In 2002, GolfGear's 340 cc Tsunami driver was twice certified as the #1 driver in distance according to Rankmark International. The Players Clubs feature tour-style woods, perimeter-weighted irons and professional-style putters. Drivers and fairway woods are properly weighted, oversize titanium alloy clubs. Cavity back, polished chrome finish irons are specifically weighted for juniors. Don Anderson founded GolfGear in 1989, invented insert technology and now has nine foreign and domestic patents relating to the process that uses forged-face inserts that are affixed into the cavity of investment-cast clubheads. The Tsunami drivers have a unique top dome "wave design" that structurally strengthens the entire club head. "This maximizes energy transfer to the hitting area, thus preventing energy loss in the head," says Anderson. GolfGear's patent portfolio with respect to insert technology is the largest and most comprehensive in the golf industry. These patents incorporate a wide variety of forged-face insert materials, including titanium, beryllium copper, stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, and related alloys, and include technology for variable face thickness of the insert.
