CHAMP Doubles Up On The Competition

PGA Tour and Nationwide Tour winners both ride CHAMP spikes to victory

(August 14, 2003) -- Another great weekend for CHAMP, as CHAMP golf spikes were on the shoes of the winners at The International on the PGA Tour and the Omaha Classic on the Nationwide Tour. Wearing CHAMP 6mm Cer-Mec(TM) spikes, the winner of The International posted his fourth victory of the year and 15th overall for CHAMP on the PGA Tour in 2003. The winner of the Nationwide Tour's Omaha Classic wore CHAMP ScorpionSpikes for his first career Nationwide victory.

At The International, the winner and his CHAMP 6mm Cer-Mec spikes went wire-to-wire for the victory, winning the event by 12 points under the modified Stableford scoring system. In all, 60 golfers at The International wore CHAMP spikes, with 48 wearing CHAMP 6mm Cer-Mec and other metal spikes, eight wearing CHAMP ScorpionSpikes, two wearing new CHAMP Stinger(TM) spikes, one wearing CHAMP TRAC spikes, and one wearing spikes manufactured by CHAMP for Nike Golf.

While the winner of The International was in complete command from start to finish, the winner of the Omaha Classic and his CHAMP ScorpionSpikes needed a final-round 10-under-par 62 to take home the victory. Overall, At the Omaha Classic, 59 golfers wore CHAMP spikes, with 32 wearing CHAMP ScorpionSpikes and 27 wearing CHAMP 6mm Cer-Mec and other metal spikes.
