LOS ANGELES (September 10, 2002) - AccuFLEX Golf, Inc. (www.accuflexgolf.com) announced today that it has added a new shaft to its popular and successful ICON line of premium graphite shafts. The ICON "Tour Prototype" weighs 92 grams and is available in "S" and "X" flexes. Nicknamed "The Heavyweight" (TM), this shaft is designed for golfers who want the benefits of steel in a graphite shaft.

"The 'Tour Prototype' is the logical next step in our ICON Tour Series," stated AccuFLEX company spokesman Steve Zunich. "The ICON shaft has earned victories and 'top tens' on the PGA and Buy.Com tours and we still expect this to be our most popular tour shaft. After getting feedback from several tour players, however, we found that many of them wanted a heavier shaft from us that would give them the unique feel that our exclusive A2 graphite material provides. The 'Tour Prototype' will fill this niche very nicely. We also see this as a 'transition' shaft for players who either want to switch from steel to graphite or who are considering switching from graphite to steel. While we don't expect everyone to benefit from this technology, we do think it will work very well for a fairly large segment of golf's better players, both professional and amateur."
