GASTONIA, N.C. (August 11, 2003) - AccuFLEX Golf announced that 2003 Nationwide Tour Driving Distance Leader Victor Schwamkrug used the company's ASSASSIN 2 Long Drive shaft to earn a ninth place finish at last weekend's Omaha Classic PGA Nationwide Tour event. Schwamkrug's four-day total of 268 was his lowest score of the season and his three rounds of 65 matched his lowest score of the year, which he achieved about two months ago. Schwamkrug averaged 373.5 yards in driving distance over the weekend, which raised his Nationwide Tour Driving Distance average to 336.1 yards and increased his Driving Distance average lead from 19.5 yards to 23.9 yards over his nearest challenger. Victor also jumped up 38 spots on the Official Nationwide Tour Money Leader List to put him in striking distance for a much-coveted PGA Tour Card for 2004. Known as the longest driver on any PGA Tour, Schwamkrug has regained and extended his Nationwide Tour driving distance lead since switching to AccuFLEX shafts in early July. Schwamkrug has credited his confidence that his drives won't "balloon" or "spin" with his AccuFLEX shafted driver as the reason for his improved driving in recent weeks.

"We are excited that Victor has increased his driving distance lead while hitting our shafts," AccuFLEX president Jody Baucom commented. "What is really encouraging, however, is that Victor was able to shoot his lowest four-round score of the year and crack the top ten. If he keeps improving, I believe that he will earn his PGA Tour Card for 2004 and make a real impact on the big tour for years to come. Congratulations, Victor! Keep it going."
