MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (April 22, 2003) - Myrtle Beach National's King's North has been named to America's Top 100 Greatest Public Courses 2003 - 2004 list in Golf Digest. Courses named to this list are judged on architectural merit.

"We are thrilled to be listed among such esteemed company in the ranking by Golf Digest," said Jim Woodring, director of golf operations at Myrtle Beach National Company. "Our Arnold Palmer signature course is unique and memorable because of our surroundings, conditioning and playability. We are proud to be included in such a prestigious ranking."

Established in 1966, Golf Digest's survey of America's 100 Greatest Golf Courses remains the oldest and most respected golf course ranking. This ranking is based on extensive play and scrutiny of thousands of courses over the past two years by a panel of over 800 low handicap golfers. At #78, The Dunes Golf and Beach Club is the only Grand Strand course to be listed among the overall America's 100 Greatest Golf Courses. The 2003 - 2004 ranking is the 20th edition of the ultimate honor paid to American golf course architecture.

The Myrtle Beach National Company has evolved into one of the leading golf and management operations in the Southeast, featuring many of the most well respected signature courses along the Grand Strand. The company formed in 1971 with the construction of the Arnold Palmer-designed original 54-hole golf complex, which includes the West Course, SouthCreek (both designed by Francis Duane and Arnold Palmer) and Palmer's newly designed and award winning King's North. Since the originals, the company has grown to include the Robert Trent Jones designed Waterway Hills, Jack Nicklaus' Long Bay, Tom Jackson's River Club and Aberdeen Country Club, Dan Maple's Willbrook Plantation and Willard Byrd's Litchfield Country Club, all premier Myrtle Beach area signature courses. The Myrtle Beach National Company also owns and operates Litchfield Beach and Golf Resort and The Breakers Resort, as well as The Breakers Tower, which opened in 2002.
