BolingbrookBOLINGBROOK, Ill. (March 31, 2003) - Bolingbrook Golf Club, the newly opened 7,104 yard championship Arthur Hills / Steve Forrest designed course outside of Chicago, Illinois, received Golf Magazines highest honor for 2002. Mayor Roger Claar, the Mayor of Bolingbrook, is thrilled. He stated that "the response to the golf course, its amenities and the clubhouse has exceeded my wildest dreams. This course is a real symbol of community pride." The course opened in July of 2002 and has been the talk of Chicago since the course's grand opening event right after last year's PGA's Western Open. "It was important to give the course some time to fill out" says Steve Forrest, Arthur's partner of 25 years. "We are extremely proud of the end result. The course has tremendous rhythm and drama. Every hole is framed well and fits in nicely with the surrounding land."

Building the course was a rewarding challenge recalls Forrest, "The site did not have many natural features; however, the Mayor, Arthur and I had a vision for the land. By working closely with the entire team, we were able to achieve that vision and create a course that is both memorable in beauty and fun to play." The color contrast of the course was created by using various grasses and by shaping the earth around the greens and on the fairways, making every hole unique.

In a town filled with great golf courses, Mayor Claar and Tom Grey from Kemper Sports, the management company hired to oversee the Club's operations, understand that along with the golf course it is the complete golfing experience that will set Bolingbrook apart. "From the moment the golfer arrives at our bag drop until the second that he or she drives outside of our gates, we are committed to providing them with world class service", says Grey. The Mayor echoed these thoughts by stating, "With such a rich golfing tradition in Chicago, we want our guests to feel like they are visiting one of the most prestigious clubs in the country." This couldn't be more apparent when one visits Bolingbrook. Should your travels take you through Chicago this year, experience Bolingbrook for yourself and find out why all of its ingredients add up too a truly memorable day on the links.
