Synergies Worldwide Tees Up Cyclonic To Become Global Brand Contact Mary Deatrick NEW YORK (August 21, 2003) - Synergies Worldwide, a global apparel services company headquartered in United Kingdom with offices in seventeen countries, announced today that it has acquired a controlling interest in Cyclonic Inc., a pioneering lifestyle brand of footwear and apparel for golf and other active wear. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Founded in 1998 by New York designer Cary Hensley, Cyclonic quickly established itself as a leader in golf-wear for a new generation of style-conscious twenty-first century golfers. "When we started Cyclonic," Hensley points out, "golf shoes had been the same for decades, even though golf equipment had changed tremendously, as had virtually every other class of performance and everyday footwear. We offered golf shoes with performance, comfort and styling for a modern lifestyle, and consumer response was immediate and strong." Cyclonic shoes have received extensive press media coverage in leading fashion and golf publications, and its products are distributed in the US, Canada, Europe and Asia. The company is about to release its first collection of performance apparel, which will appear in European stores next spring. For the last three years, Cyclonic has also supplied exclusive private-label footwear to Barneys New York and other fashion specialty stores. Working within Synergies, Cyclonic will expand its golf-wear line to include apparel in addition to shoes. The company may also pursue a marketing partnership with a full-spectrum golf equipment company wanting to expand into apparel and footwear. Synergies will also expand Cyclonic's private-label opportunities in the global active-lifestyle market.
