PALM COAST, Fla. (January 7, 2002) -- The Professional Caddies Association Worldwide Foundation today announced it has opened a new educational and training facility in St. Augustine, Florida. The foundations mission is to teach positive life skills, train individuals to forecaddie and carry at local courses, and at courses throughout the country. The new training facility at the Legends Golf USA Driving Range in St. Augustine, Florida, will enable PCA to adapt their programs to meet the needs of these groups and the community.

"The Legends Driving Range is the perfect fit for our needs," stated Dennis M. Cone, President of the PCA Worldwide Foundation, "The facility is centrally located in the middle of St. Augustine the Oldest City in the USA. A pitching wedge from the World Golf Village and the First Tee, across the street from a brand new low income housing project which will open in February, and a short distance from all of the four US TOURS. It is less then 20 minutes from the ST. Johns Municipal Golf Course home of the ST. Johns First Tee Chapter. We finally have the perfect venue for the growth of the game and the PCA Worldwide Foundation."

The PCA Worldwide multi-level programs have been used at the finest resorts and courses throughout the world. These unique programs are designed to teach individuals the profession of caddying and golf. They have incorporate interpersonal skills, life skills, first aid, service skills, rules, environment and the history of golf in their programs. The goal is to develop a universal standard for caddies.

"Today more than ever before in the wake of 2001 we all need to teach kids the core values of LIFE through the game of golf and caddying. Become a PCA sponsor; lend your expertise, your products, services and dollars to help this mission. Your support will go along way in assisting the Foundation in reaching the youth of the world and implementing the programs and projects we have been developing over the past four years," stated Cone.

Four years ago the PCA Worldwide Foundation started the first Worldwide Caddie Hall of Fame at the World Golf Village in front of the TOUR STOP. This year they will be returning to the World Golf Village Renaissance Resort and ST. Johns County Convention Center. They will be inducting candidates into the 2002 Hall of Fame as well as inviting past inductees to the event in 2002. They are looking for sponsors and nominations for the event.
