Become A Friend Of The National Alliance For Accessible Golf And Help Make Golf Available To People With Disabilities Contact Gary Robb ALEXANDRIA, Va. (March 27, 2003) - The National Alliance for Accessible Golf invites everyone to become a "Friend of the Alliance." The National Alliance for Accessible Golf was formed by leaders from the golf industry and representatives of organizations serving people with disabilities and golfers with disabilities to increase participation of people with disabilities in the game of golf. Participants involved in the formation of the Alliance include the United States Golf Association, the Professional Golfers Association of America, the Ladies Professional Golf Association, the National Golf Course Owners Association, the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America, the Club Managers Association of America and the First Tee. University representatives and organizations and individuals representing golfers with disabilities are also involved. The goals of the National Alliance for Accessible are:
For as little as $15 a year for an individual or $150 a year for an organization, you can join a one-of-a kind team that will make certain that the game of golf is available to people with disabilities. "The Friends of the Alliance provides an extremely economical and tax deductible opportunity to support the work of the Alliance in making the game of golf accessible to people with disabilities," said Gary Robb, President of the National Alliance for Accessible Golf. "We anticipate the initiation of several new projects that will address significant issues related to golf accessibility. We need your support in allowing us to pursue these most important issues." To become a Friend of the Alliance, visit the Friends section of the Alliance Web site at http://www.accessgolf.org/friends/friendsform.html and obtain all the information for making your tax deductible contribution. The National Alliance for Accessible Golf was formed in the summer of 2001 by leaders from the golf industry and representatives of organizations serving people with disabilities and golfers with disabilities. The National Alliance for Accessible Golf is located at Indiana University's National Center on Accessibility, Department of Recreation and Park Administration, School of Health, Physical Education and Recreation.
