CARLSBAD, Calif. (August 14, 2003) - adidas Golf has for the first time debuted a line of golf apparel for children, called adidas Golf Kids, a performance-based line of unisex polo shirts and outerwear that incorporates the same ClimaLite(R) moisture management technology and ClimaShell(TM) wind protection technology featured in adidas Golf's existing men's and women's apparel. Geared toward eight- to 14-year-olds, the adidas Golf Kids line consists of styles that coordinate with adidas Golf's men's offerings, and complements adidas Golf's existing youth footwear offering, the adiWear 3-Stripe.

"Kids apparel is a new category for adidas Golf, and we hope to create more brand loyalty with it," says Casey Waid, Director of Apparel for adidas Golf. "The adidas brand is popular with kids that play other sports; now those kids and others will have the opportunity to wear adidas Golf apparel as well, both on the course and off."

Product Details

Solid Clima Interlock Polo and Clima JP Polo shirts are available in vibrant primary colors, and feature two-button plackets, full-fashioned rib knit collars, set-in sleeves, rib-knit cuffs and extended back length with vent hem. The Clima Interlock Polo is made of 60 percent cotton and 40 percent polyester ClimaLite(R) interlock with hydrophilic finish, while the Clima JP Polo is made of 55 percent cotton and 45 percent polyester ClimaLite(R) jersey/pique with hydrophilic finish and yarn-dyed stripes. Both styles incorporate ClimaLite(R) fabrics that wick and transport sweat away from the skin to the outer fabric face, for quick evaporation, and help keep the golfer dry and comfortable.

adidas Golf Kids Outerwear consists of ClimaShell(TM) Short Sleeve and ClimaShell(TM) V-Neck Wind shirts, both of which incorporate adidas Golf's ClimaShell(TM) Wind technology that repels water and stops wind without sacrificing breathability; the V-Neck is fully lined with a 100% polyester mesh body and 100% nylon taffeta sleeves, and both styles employ a 100% polyester, peached microfiber exterior with a Teflon(R) finish.

Manufacturer's suggested retail prices are $35/Clima Interlock Polo, $40/Clima JP Polo, $50/ClimaShell(TM) Short Sleeve Shirt and $60/ClimaShell(TM) V-Neck Wind Shirt. adidas Golf Kid's apparel will be sold through green grass and golf specialty shops starting December 1, 2003. Golf clubs and resorts will be offered cresting options.
